Greetings and salutations! It was so wonderful seeing all of you again (elsieskipping!) and meeting our new member (Capitol Hill in the house!).

From what I was able to gather, everyone felt the book's impact whether they liked it or not. We seemed to decide that it would not be a book that would be recommended unless the situation arose for it.

Other topics discussed were:

What everyone else is reading
Required readings for teens in schools (and how outdated they are)
Movies watched
Television shows watched
Patrick Jones' hair and it's resemblance to Helena Bonham Carter's

The Objective, Reflective and Interpretive

I thought I would list the books/movies/and tv shows that we discussed/mentioned during the meeting, but then I had a thought. Run for cover! Anyway, how about I just start a LibraryThing list for us? That way you can click on a title and get the Amazon information right off, and I don't have to copy/paste links. I'll put the link on the right handside sidebar with a link to the rss feed as well.

It was a very good meeting. Our next meeting will either be July 1 or July 8. The book is Elsewhere by Gabrielle Zevin. You can view the publisher's website about the author and book from clicking on the del.icio.us link on the sidebar, scroll to readinglist and click on 2006.
